God’s garden had need of a flower that he chose to call home on Thursday, July 12, 2018, Mrs. Barbara Ann Willingham Rogers.
Barbara, the daughter of John Willingham, Sr. and Eloise Chester Willingham, was born in Bridgeton, New Jersey on February 5, 1952.
Mrs. Rogers was a faithful member of Faith Outreach Deliverance of Bridgeton, New Jersey, under the leadership of Apostle Roma Allen, Sr. She served diligently as an usher and missionary, before moving to Georgia.
Barbara was a registered nurse at Bridgeton State Hospital in Bridgeton, New Jersey for a number of years. She was also employed as a Medical Technician at the Goldfinch Assisted Living Facility.
Her family recalls church events, shopping, fishing, her pet, Sparky, and her love for beautiful roses and the colors of red and white as some of the small things that brought joy and comfort to her life.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eloise Willingham, a beloved aunt, Mary Chester “Aunt Baby”; her siblings, Kenny Willingham, Carol Willingham, Willie Willingham and Terrie Willingham Bell.
The tone of her voice will forever resonate in the hearts of her daughter, Laverne Willingham (Johnny) Woods, Wadley, Georgia; grandson, Dezmond Willingham, Wadley, Georgia; four sisters, Debra Willingham and Rosetta Willingham. Bridgeton, New Jersey and Sharon Willingham and Gladys Willingham, Wilmington, Delaware; two brothers, John Willingham, Jr. Bridgeton, New Jersey and David Willingham, Bridgeton, New Jersey; two aunts, Mary Lacue, Millen, Georgia and Mozell Jones, Midville, Georgia; uncles, Tommy Chester, Savannah, Georgia, Louis Chester, Fort Pierce, Florida, Charles Young, Millen, Georgia and Jerry Young, Bridgeton, New Jersey; a special niece, LaShawn Willingham Salmond and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
