Gladys Powell Fann was born on December 14, 1943 in Bartow, Jefferson County, Georgia.

Gladys was a former employee of the Oxford Shirt Company and was a Certified Nurses Assistant at Vero Health and Rehabilitation in Wadley.

Ms. Powell was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Hubert Fann on Dec. 4, 1981.

Sis. Fann was a member of One Way to God Apostolic Church of  Wadley where she served as Mother of the Church and faithfully worked on the Pastor’s Aide and Missionary boards.

She loved to read and found exceptional strength in God by reading her bible daily. Her family fondly remembers her hobbies that included fishing, watching television, sewing and gardening. Mother Fann also had a passion for arts and crafts.

She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Jefferson Hospital, Louisville, Georgia. 

Mother Fann was preceded in death by her parents, Forris and Effie Mae Powell, Sr. and two brothers, Forris Powell, Jr. and Ben Powell.

Her love will continue to reign in the hearts of her husband, Hubert Fann, Wadley, Georgia; four daughters, Dianne Williams, Reidsville, Georgia, Delois (Charles) Hill and Rhoda Price Wadley, Georgia and Demetria Price, Augusta, Georgia; two sons, David (LaVelury) Powell Wadley, Georgia and George (Sonianica) Price, Jr., Cibolo, Texas; her stepchildren, Hubert Leon Fann, Celestine Fann, Helen Fann, Hubert Nathaniel Fann, Jeannette Fann, Bernard Fann, Tammie Fann and Carolyn Fann all of Jacksonville, Florida and Bernard Hines, St. Petersburg, Florida; four sisters, Alma Jean Medley, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Katie Hughley, Macon, Georgia; Carolyn Browder, Providence, Kentucky and Willie “Mae West” Johnson, Dublin, Georgia; three brothers, Rev. Oscar (Jerlene) Powell and Rev. Torris (Mary) Powell, Providence, Kentucky and Isaiah (Yvette) Powell, New Port News, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Beatrice (Theodore) Jackson, Mt. Vernon, New York, Louise Fann, San Diego, California, Jeanette Wooden, Bartow, Georgia; brothers-in-law, Rufus (Sylvia) Fann, Decatur, Georgia and Marcus (Naomi) Fann, Jacksonville, Georgia; twenty-four grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
