Lena Mae Heggs

Ms. Lena Mae Heggs, daughter of the late Mrs. Lenora Heggs Thompson, was born in Bartow, Jefferson County, Georgia. She was a member of Old Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Bartow, where she  served faithfully on the Usher's Board until her health failed. She had a sincere love for children that was constantly displayed as she was employed as a paraprofessional in the Jefferson County Public School System for many years.

On Sunday, August 20, 2017, at her residence in Wadley, Georgia, Ms. Heggs placed her hand in the hand of her Master and departed this earth in search of her eternal reward.

She leaves to cherish her memory: three brothers, Willie M. Heggs, New York, New York, Eddie Lewis Heggs, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Benjamin (Alice) Heggs, Albany, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Betty Heggs, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
