Mattie Mincey

Mattie Mincey was born on August 11, 1931 in Telfair County, GA.  She was the 8th of 8 children born to her late parents, Morris Mincey and Lillie Bell Mincey.  Her 7 siblings Idella (Will) Mincey Stanley, Rosa Bell Mincey, Rena (Thelma Lee) Mincey Gay, Morris Jr. (Mary) Mincey, Clinton Mincey,  Annie Liza (Jordan) Mincey Freeman and Thelma (Sammie) Mincey Hall all preceded her in death.    

At an early age Mattie moved from Wadley, GA., to the state of New York where she resided for more than 50 years while working as a clerk. Following her retirement she continued to live in New York until she relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia in 2009.

Mattie was a friend to everyone she met. She enjoyed reading and watching television.        

On September 25, 2018,  Mattie entered into rest at Sentara Leigh Hospital, Virginia Beach, Virginia.  She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Rickey Mincey, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and a host of loving nieces, nephews and family members.
