Dora Lee Moore Jackson

Mrs. Dora Lee Moore Jackson, daughter of John Henry Moore II and Maudie Lee Moore was born in Wrightsville, Johnson County, Georgia on June 30,1937. 

Dora was a faithful member of James Temple C.M.E. Church of Bartow, Georgia through its merger into Faith Memorial C.M.E. Church of Wadley, Georgia. She served as a trustee and a stewardess until her health failed.

Dora was a seamstress by trade, having worked at several textile manufacturing companies, including Wadley Shirt Company and Buckeye. In her latter years, she was employed in the housekeeping department of Glendale Nursing Home, Wadley, Georgia.

Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry II and Maudie Moore; her husband, Eugene Jackson, Sr.; her son, Robert Lee Jackson; daughter, Annette Jackson; granddaughter, Shameka Nicole Jackson; her sisters; Hattie Shoultz and Betty Ann Moore and brother, John Henry Moore III.

Her memory will forever live in the hearts of her daughter, Dorothy Jean (Earl) Lowery, Sr. Wadley, Georgia; four sons, Eugene (Orlando) Jackson, Jr., Tennille, Georgia, Adam (Annie Lois) Jackson, Dothan, Alabama, Lester (Cathy) Jackson, Tennille, Georgia and Michael Jackson, Bartow, Georgia; three sisters, Narvie Lee (Robert) Burch, Maudie Lee Moore and Jackie Moore, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her brother, Sherman (Barbara) Moore, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; godchildren (reared as her own), Roosevelt Tarver, Wrens, Georgia, Eugene Tarver, Bartow, Georgia, Ulysses Tarver, Bartow, Georgia and Pamela Strowbridge, Wadley, Georgia; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
