Ms. Dorothy Jean Smith, lovingly known as "Dot", "Grandma Dot", or "Ms. Dot", was called home on November 17, 2019.
She was a lifelong residence of Bartow, Georgia and a devoted member of Mt. Pleasant C.M.E. Church in Bartow.
Dorothy Smith was preceded in death by her husband; Edward Jake Smith, Jr., son , Walter Lee Tarver and grandsons, Beorgie Levon Tarver and Tony Jackson.
"Ms. Dot" leaves to cherish her memory: her caretaker and loving granddaughter-in-law, Shirley Ann Tarver, McDonough, Georgia; stepson, Rev. Lorenzo (Cassie) Heggs, Thomson, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Catherine Tarver; two granddaughters, April Tarver, Harrison, Georgia and Mrs. LaShon Lewis, Dublin, Georgia; two grandsons, Walter Anthony Tarver and Brandon Tarver, Harrison, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Jean Gilmore and Delores Smith, Augusta, Georgia and Mary Hordens, McDonough, Georgia; loving and supportive cousins, Valene "Vet" Hicks and Johnnie Mae Daniels and a host of great grandchildren, other cousins, relatives and friends.
