Ronnie Eugene Hudson

Ronnie Eugene Hudson, affectionately known as “Hutto” was born  to the parentage of Rev. James M. Hudson and Mrs. Mattie Gilmore Hudson on February 7, 1953.

Ronnie was a member of Brinson Hill Baptist Church in Wadley, Georgia from an early age.

He was employed as a supervisor at the former J.P. Stevens and Company, later known as Forstmann Industries, of Louisville, Georgia.

“Hutto” was well known in the City of Wadley and in the surrounding CSRA communities for his outstanding, love, concern and dedication to the youth. He had a deep passion for his position as the Recreation Director for the City of Wadley, where he was employed from 1991 until 2018. “Hutto” could be found coaching the youth, driving them to all of their sporting events, transporting children for the  Feed-A-Kid program, supervising the children at the Wadley park and city pool and when needed “mowing the lawn” and keeping the grounds landscaped. Ronnie was a proud official “referee” with the  Georgia High School Athletic Association.

Not only did he have love for the children of the community, Ronnie was a volunteer fireman in the City of Wadley from 1983 - 2018. His radio was always on as he waited to rush to the rescue of the citizens. In 2016, Ronnie was named Fire Chief for the Wadley Fire Department.

Ronnie was an integral part of Hudson Mortuary operations, wearing any hat necessary to help lessen the pain involved with the loss of a loved one.

Ronnie Hudson was united in holy matrimony to Kathryn Gibbons Hudson for 45 years. Unto this union, three sons were born, Torey, Timothy and Ronnie II. His sons will continue his legacy. His family fondly remembers his love for hunting, playing ball, coaching the youth and most of all enjoying his community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. James and Mattie Hudson; his sister, Maxine Grimes and brother, James M. Hudson, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Kathryn "K.G." Hudson, Wadley, Georgia; his sons, Torey Hudson, Atlanta, Georgia; Timothy (Miranda) Hudson, Augusta, Georgia,  Ronnie Hudson II, Peoria, Illinois and Damien Wilburn, Atlanta, Georgia; one sister, Alma (Ronnie) McCladdie, Augusta, Georgia; two brothers, Farris (Jewel) Hudson, Sr., Wadley, Georgia and Larry (Elizabeth) Hudson, Macon, Georgia; his grandchildren, Shatoria Hudson, Americus, Georgia, Torey Hudson II, Milledgeville, Georgia and Caleb Hudson, Timira Hudson and Jeremiah Hudson, Augusta, Georgia; goddaughter, Salay Roberts, Wadley, Georgia;  brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack (Sharlene) Wilcher, Augusta, Georgia and Jeffrey (Alison) Gibbons, Swinden, England; nephews and nieces, Farris M. Hudson, Jr., James Grimes IV, Kevin Hudson, Dyschawne Hudson, Jamond Hudson, Byron McCladdie, Terrence Wilcher, Travis Wilcher, Tyler Wilcher, LaZelda Williams, Farlyn Hudson, Shawana Lewis, Phrashunda Hudson and LaToya Grimes and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
